Igniting the Power of Giving: Introducing the Philanthropy Ambassadors
Penn Traditions Philanthropy Ambassadors are committed to educating the Penn undergraduate community about the importance of philanthropy and helping students understand how gifts have an impact on the experiences of every current and past Penn student. Students who participate in the Philanthropy Ambassadors will be able to actively engage in each part of the donor cycle and experience philanthropy in action through their involvement in the funding allocation process.
Philanthropy Ambassadors will gain experience with both programming and funding allocation through year-long philanthropy events including the Penn It Forward Student Philanthropy Week and actively managing the Penn Traditions Alumni Engagement Fund (PTAEF).
During Penn It Forward Week, the Philanthropy Ambassadors work with The Penn Fund and Alumni Relations to plan a week full of fun philanthropy-focused programming. Through Penn It Forward, we seek to create a culture of giving back and educate the student body on the philanthropic efforts of alumni and beyond!
PTAEF provides resources to other student organizations. Philanthropy Ambassadors review and accept applications and allocate money to student groups who program successful interactions between student members and alumni. Each year, we meet with and fund dozens of student groups across every subsection of student interest!
Philanthropy Ambassadors provides a unique opportunity to be involved in programming all while gaining funding board experience!
